zak attack.

head's up, folks. zak pelaccio (as in big new york restaurateur) is flying over the atlantic to open his latest east meets west resto suka. who's he teaming up with, you ask? the sanderson hotel and asia de cuba peeps.

what's so special about pelaccio? he ticks all the top chef boxes. mentored in new york under daniel boulud? check. trained under thomas keller at the french laundry in napa? double check. went on to open two wildly successful ventures in new york's trendy meatpacking district (5 ninth and fatty crab). we're checked out. and now he's ready to conquer the capital of little old blighty.

this time, pelaccio offers malaysian food created with his trademark european techniques. eat skate bakar grilled in banana leaf with sambal, roasted turbot with charred chili, and clam and tofu sauce, or nosh on the curried crab laksa (crab curry broth, picked crab, crab fritters, and egg noodles).

having trouble locating the resto? hint: paris based designer, india mahdavi has created a hidden setting for the food somewhere on the ground floor. (think around the long bar.) what else? terrace included.
