hint: 10,000 feet.
idea: sky dive. if you need a new perspective on life, then mark this down in ink and don't look back. there's a jump site close to the city in long island where you can jump in tandem, equipped with a pro on your back. all you have to do is take in the view of the hamptons and new york (and not pass out). www.longislandskydiving.com

hint: let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.
idea: snowmobiling is for those who would rather stay grounded. the go-in-the-snow-fast-mobiles are a blast - literally. rent a single or go duo ($120 - $140), and ride through the woods and across farmland in the adirondacks. www.adirondacks.com

hint: wear your winter helmet.
idea: toboggan. imagine yourself hauling down an ice-covered chute that eventually spits you out onto a huge frozen lake, and you'll keep shooting across the middle of lake, and you can't stop laughing. when it's all over, you'll grab the string, turn around and climb to the top for another go (and this will be your third time). www.neparkdistrict.com
