you've finally discovered that life is all about choices. and you're in control, woman. so stop letting your coworkers make the lunch decision and high tail it to urban picnic.
you love fries and sweet treats, but your bod could use a break. sweep up an armful of the good stuff thanks to the brains behind poleng lounge, chef tim luym and food loving diva trang nguyen. collabs are everything. the fidi's new eatery features a healthy host of salads, sammies and soups. how does seasame udon noodle soup sound for a foggy wednesday, or roast red kuri squash? yeah move over veggie based bores. as for the breaded faves, which by the way are only served on baguettes, you'll nosh on delish renditions of the classics--charlie tuna, lemongrass chicken (features cilantro slaw, natch) and tradish roast beef. the salad sitch exceeds the rest. you know to get your greens, but you didn't know they could come like this. while the "mean green" salad has your vites on lock (think arugula and spinch gone wild), the "apple a day" is where chicken salad meets fuiji apples, pomegranate and hemp seeds wtih quinoa. you've lost those extra LBs just thinking about this spot. and six architects have decked out the place with a less-is-more kinda vibe. a melon canopy helps brighten the scene set by the reclaimed wood communal table and mod chairs. pillows keep the space cozy and it's got wifi just like home. still in search of the eco element? try compost bins, LED lighting and energy efficient equipment.
eat wisely, it's an urban jungle out there. urban picnic. 125 kearny street between post and sutter. 415.433.1233. now open. www.urbanpicnicsf.com
