atlanta | patty meltdown.
you know obama loves him some five guys, but that's only because he's never tried grindhouse killer burgers. the new eatery is a party fave, no matter your affiliation.
grindhouse is a hip spot that looks down its nose at chains and franchises and makes it cool (again) to eat at a patty place. owner alex brounstein is in hot college territory, but don't let that deter you from making the trip. the simple space features stool-style seating, a wood-paneled bar, neon signs and whitewashed brick walls that double as movie projector screens. as stripped down as the atmosphere is, you'll be surprised by what you'll find between the buns. grindhouse breaks the process down into three easy steps. one: choose your burger (beef, turkey or a veggie version with bean and quinoa). second, choose your size, either a single, double, or those delectable little sliders. then, go crazy with toppings, including roasted green chiles, crispy vidalia onions, or the house chili. can't take the heat? the house also offers pre-made styles, including the "euro," the "apache" and the "hypocrite." what do they include? only one way to find out.
stop on by and cast your vote. grindhouse killer burgers. 209 edgewood avenue. at sweet auburn curb market. 404.522.3444. now open. www.grindhouseburgers.com
