want to get comfy with christian lacroix? celebrate his 20th anniversary in high style by getting under his sheets at the sparkling new hotel bellechasse.

just around the corner from the musee d'orsay on the left bank, hotel bellechasse has gotten the head-to-toe couture treatment by lacroix, down to the last silk tassel. the sumptuous 34 rooms are divided into seven categories: avengers (an ode to emma peel), musketeer, quai d'orsay, st. germain, jeu de paume, patchwork, and tuileries. lacroix does whimsical, as only he can, all over, but the butterfly mural made of waterproof fabric in some rooms is a real flight of fancy. he finishes it off with classic furniture and state-of the art bathrooms. there's also a series of rooms with a shiny white bathtub in the middle and dark walls. only expect petit dejeuner only for the time being, but a full restaurant is on the way.

during the day head to the antique shops lining rue université or marvel at the impressionists for the umpteenth time at the d'orsay. if you can bring yourself to leave christian's bed, that is.
