the french know how to drink their champagne. but new yorkers know where to sip the bubbly. flûte, the fizz lounge that's made a splash in NYC, has finally opened a location in paris.
owner hervé rousseau outfits his newest city of lights location with a champagne bottle chandelier courtesy of patrick jouin. (you probably best know him as the genius who designed the chic plaza athenée bar.) pass the twinkling globes and grab a seat in the lounge that offers 115 types of champagne. sip from small boutique producers like ayala, pierre gimonnet and fleury. or stick with big boys krug, laurent perrier and dom. if the bubbles go to your head, come back to earth with caviar and foie gras. or go americaine with mini cheeseburgers. sure it's just steps away from two bustling tourist traps (arc de triomphe and champs des elysées), but cut through the crowds to snuggle up in this velvet-filled jewel box.
some advice? get a spot near the fireplace to help you make beautiful music with your amour.
