exercise schmexercise. why should 2006 be different
than any other year? which means you won't be hauling your ass north of 23rd
street. unless hell's kitchen freezes over, or the new resto whym (opening
tomorrow) sparks interest.
the dealio? new american (hmm), owners sean connolly and evan kushner of eatery
(hmm), duck negamaki with pomegranate glaze (ah hah). throw in mod furniture
(brown leather chairs), a little shine (blue chandeliers), and some plush pillows
(in orange no less) by designer west chin, and you're somewhere between upmarket
and comfortable. fitting for the nouveau comfort food menu that draws from the
far east (wasabi pea crusted tuna) to the down south (double stuffed pork chop),
and of course the decadent (peanut butter and ganache martini). that's more distance
than you've traveled since jean-georges went downtown.
could be a win whym situation. but only time will tell.
