stick out (in a good way) with a striking new bit of jewelry from inventive designer elizabeth yarborough. our faves? the eclectic line of leather button rings and pendants.

they're perfect for a day of antiquing in a sundress. the horsehead, crest, or weave versions all have an air of manners about them - like a prep school girl gone bad. a former book editor, yarborough moved from north carolina to new york and came up with her first line last year. she started with unusual materials (like yarn and buttons, feathers and horns) and fashioned them into eclectic ornaments. her other unique pieces include gemstone charms that combine and remove in intricate ways, honey jade tassels, peacock hoop earrings, and sweater bangles (wait till fall to try those on).

her pieces are whimsical and avant-garde. this ain't your typical jewelry lady stringing beads we're talking about.
