you know sonny & cher, but soni & cindy? yes, they're the newest duo to play
the lower east side and they've got a hit on their hands with their new boutique, suite
orchard.
it may seem old fiddle, but the sisters huang are humming a slightly different
tune for the below-houston-street crowd. they've signed not-run-of the-mill designers
like jovovich-hawk, alexander wang, and sue stemp on to their label, with handbags
from bliss lau and baubles from made her think, playing back up. you can't help
but notice the franco-inspiration with smock frocks from alice ritter and high-waisted
jean hotpants from sonia by sonia rykiel. (stir and add birken for parisian perfection.)
but these born and bred city gals know that a penny saved is a purchase bought,
so they're also carrying RN convertibles (rozae nichols' less pricey threads),
newbie line valentine, and their debut namesake collection, soni & cindy, bien
sûr. and the interior? it's kind of like the boudoir you always wish you
had, or had room for, complete with candy-striped walls, a comfy velvet chair,
and color-coded racks filled with frocks.
