sometimes all you really need to do to an old lounge is breath new life
into it, give it a new name, a face lift and have the waiters hike to
mcdonald's for you post 10pm.
the 90's west village nightspot - halo - that disappeared after several
years only because its clientele grew up - is back. its new name: play. the face lift: boy toys (a mix of flat screen tvs and sony playstations
supplemented with a supply of chilled mini-bottles of take-your-pick).
the partners in crime: original halo owner vince smith, friend alex lasky
and actor andrew levitas.
gone are the days of seinfeld-ex shoshana lonstein singing karaoke in halo's
back room. and yes, the 90's lounge generation may have gotten a little
older. but come halloween, vince and his partners may just prove that just
because you grow up doesn't mean that the fun is over.
