if you can wait for the sun to set or the temp to drop below 90 - you may be one happy camper these days. just three weeks ago, the gramercy park hotel introduced their former garden come outdoor lounge - the high bar.

if you can swallow old school and cool - check it out. right down to the wallpaper and furniture. don't expect mod and chic - although the authenticity of this place still keeps it in the hip category (as thought cameron crowe when he shot almost famous). the hotel itself is about 75 years old and the new roof bar once hosted a 27 year old humphrey bogart's wedding.

you may even find new owner steven greenberg walking about deciding if you're worthy of a cobalt room invitation - the new private club that just opened downstairs on wednesday nights. "its' hip, it's chic," he'll say. but little does he know - he's just a character in this quirky old school picture that still works.
