the nightlife is about to get longer. all hail the opening of spotted pig owner ken friedman's newest after-after party spot, the rusty
knot.
friedman acknowledges his after party pig crowd may just need a little more. he enlisted the help of taavo somer (freeman's) and tobey maloney (milk & honey) to open the nautical-themed gastro dive in the former west space. outside, expect some of the best sunset views in the city. inside? it might remind you of a childhood rec room. plastic fish and a mirrored ship helm hang from the wood paneled walls that surround the place, which offers a pool table and a questionable fish tank as entertainment. tiki drinks served in kitschy plastic totem glasses or coconut shells are mixed up behind the bar. sticking to the basics? opt for the dollar beers to wash down finger foods like oysters, chips and pigs in a blanket served in no frills plastic baskets.
this is knot your average dive bar.
go check it out.
