miami | the nespresso lane.

contributed by ginger harris

the arrival of the nespresso café and boutique to lincoln road marks miami's personal caffeine evolution.

where cafecitos once reigned supreme, nespresso steps in with high-end, eco-friendly flavor options that take a tea-like approach to java. instead of same-old, same-old coffee with cream, nespresso serves up 16 different worldly inspired flavors, like indriya's strong, spicy blend or finezzo lungo's floral taste. each blend is housed in a color-coated capsule, which serves not only as the café's featured item, but anchors nespresso's elaborate modern setting. the impressive 15-foot back wall is comprised of 280,000 flavor capsules in a rainbow of hues, making it both a commodity and a work of art. bold colored chairs juxtaposed against dark waves of wood panels giving this particular nespresso location a little miami flavor. and speaking of flavor, nespresso's boutique features its sculpture-esque espresso machines, like the citiz ($279), ready to purchase. but for those who fancy a coffee stop as a home away from home, note the brand's carbon footprint: the shop favors reusable china to to-go cups and puts its eco-friendly farmed coffee in recyclable packaging.

there's plenty room to slow down here. the nespresso café and boutique. 1111 lincoln road. between lenox and alton. 305.538.5995. www.nespresso.com
