it' café, bistro and wine bar invasion this month. so put down those miami spice menus and check out some brand new, multi-ethnic, year-round digs.

we know where you're mind is going. but wine 69 is actually named for its cross street. french-hungarian proprietor ben neji opened this 46-seater right next door to world-class michy's featuring 250 labels of boutique wines, chosen by sommelier alex noir. chef ben miller has written a menu of plates-to-share including baked brie with caramelized onions, candied walnuts and apricot preserves and spinach-goat cheese-tomato quiche. okay, go ahead, kick it into the gutter. after all that, you've earned the right to feel 69-ish. 6909 biscayne boulevard. miami. 305.759.0122.

it's not exactly located on the coast. but hey, it is in miami shores. and côte gourmet, is certainly for the connoisseur, and not to mention is sorely needed. owner caroline poussardin, (ex of aix-en-provence) serves up regally dressed baguettes, crepes and blackboard specials for lunch only at the moment, but plans to expand both space, hours and menu this september. 9999 NE 2nd avenue. suite 112. miami shores. 305.754.9012.

say what? say saj. it's an arabic flat bread cooked on a dome-shaped griddle of the same name. far as we know, the only place to get one is at the new lemon fizz, wrapped around hummus or falafel or chili-tomato paste with onions, garlic and sesame. or try it as a pizza or dessert crepe in this miami modern café. not sure what the fizz is all about, but the saj rocks. 16310 w. dixie highway. north miami beach. 305.949.6599.
