feel like your palace is in need of a little green? opt for a vegetal (that's french for plant) wall right smack dab in your living room. yes folks, we mean a gigantic patrick blanc vertical garden inside your casa.

you might have noticed these wall gardens around the world: paris' pershing hall hotel, new york's marithé + françois girbaud store, L.A. resto, la bastide, or the hotel byblos in saint tropez.

so what's the deal? it's just scientist and super botanist, patrick blanc, and his vegetal wall. how goes it? easy. no soil required. just a little agua, carbonic gas, and light. (photosynthesis anyone?)

the trick? some metal construction with a watering system that pretty much does its own thing. so you don't have to get a ladder to water your 80 foot wall. (phew.) how long does is last? well, to give you an idea, patrick has been growing one in his crib for the past 20 years.

so this is one thing you might just keep around for the long haul. (we mean wall.)
