quit complaining that new restaurants are few and far between south of new york. give it a few more weeks and you can check out the soon-to-open new domo japones.

their new digs are housed in an old post office (hence the white-washed façade and eagle sculpture outside). but step inside and it's a mix of leather banquettes and soft lighting to go with a menu from chefs naohiro "nao" higuchi and timon balloo. think fresh ingreds (but aren't they always) and produce that land on small plates, like black edamame, mirin glazed short ribs and surf-n-turf miso cappuccino soup. yes, the same cappu you get with steamed milk. but this is miami afterall.

in short? this domo opening might leave you with little to complain about in no time.
