get ready for the most luxurious partnership between the fashion and art worlds: where fashion meets art. beginning april 29 through may 11, 2002, 56 top stores on madison avenue will be hosting the ultimate 29-block art exhibition and fashion auction.

barney's new york, baccarat, bvlgari, calvin klein, cartier, david yurman, dolce & gabanna, donna karen new york, gianni versace, max mara, ralph lauren, sonia rykiel, steuben, emanual ungaro, wolford, as well as 29 other stores will be participating.

internationally acclaimed artists have been invited to exhibit directly by each designer. featured artists include erwin redle (at calvin klein), photographers sheila metzner (at ralph lauren) and helmut newton (at wolford).

the ultimate fashion and art fete will be held on thursday, may 2, from 6 - 9 pm, when participating retailers will host private receptions for their customers to view the art. following is an after party and live auction of art-inspired designer fashions and jewels at the whitney. those seeking an invitation should hope to find themselves on their favorite designer's guest list or attending through a whitney
membership. otherwise, bidding is encouraged on various fashion items being offered in the stores for the two-week period.
