paris | louis, louis.
with a name like louis quatorze you would automatically think of a french brand. but think again; the brand has been sold in asia for the last 20 years. until now.
the korea-based company's first paris shop with their full line of bags, trunks and home fragrances has much to make noise about. creative director pierre-louis mascia created three collection inspired by female icons of the sun king's court for the line: maintenon, montespan and lavallière. and here, the 1,200-foot duplex shop in a 17th-century former mansion is fit for a king with a modern twist on the age of enlightment. (notice the legs on display used for racks.) the furniture, specifically designed and created for the boutique by henryot pozzoli, is colorful and also for sale: a secretary trunk with five, not four, legs, a spiral seat in orange velvet, a love seat transformed into a display case, safe-trunks, and dressing-room-trunks equipped with mirrors and drawers make for a most intriguing shopping experience.
bow down to this royal fix. louis quatorze. 106 rue vieille du temple. near rue debelleyme, 3e. www.louisquatorze.co.kr
