size matters. witness the massive new version of BOA steakhouse, which opened thursday.
innovative dining group (katana, sushi roku, lucky fish) tapped tag front to design their 13,000-square-foot flagship chop palace. rainbow lucite lamps (the group's sig), textured red felt panels, and gator walls keep the mood sexy. and it is, from floor to ceiling: artistic boxes and wooden hexagonal flowers up high are met with sparkly floors below. the two enhance the drama, and quell the volume. a huge copper sculpture showcases a peekaboo glass wine enclave, with 250 selections. and at the red indian granite bar, the second largest private exotic liqueur collection in the world is on display. the 1921 chateau d'yquem sets you back about $13,000, but 50 wines by the glass start at just $7. a pianist cranks everything from hip hop to rock out of his 88 keys. and the club room? check couches adorned with bespoke paul smith fabric, and leather tables that flip into backgammon boards. outside, the biggest patio in town accomodates smokers and nons. for dinner, sit in a semicircle booth and tackle the "appetite stimulus menu." faves like a 40-day dry aged NY strip, bone-in kansas city filet mignon are also avail, or spear something new: rib eye panini, or spaghetti and kobe beef meatballs. for a less carnivorous feast, try the organic baby greens, or atlantic salmon.
sink your chops into it. BOA steakhouse. now open. 9200 west sunset boulevard. at luckman plaza. west hollywood. 310.278.2050. www.boasteak.com
