face it. there's only so much raw food you can take before carnivorous cravings kick in. good thing manhattan meatpacking district fave, STK, opens its west coast outpost this week.

the ONE group (responsible for one sunset) delivers a modern steakhouse with a sultry vibe. creamy leather banquettes, textured crocodile tiles and smoky mirrors decorate the large lounge. the bar sits next to a larger-than-life tree in an outdoor atrium, and glowing glass pendant lights glimmer to the beat of the music. well, not literally, but you'll think they do as you cut your steak to the rhythm of the house DJ. not your daddy's steakhouse, eh? the food sure is. exec chef todd mark miller serves up small, medium and large cuts, grilled to a char. or saddle up for the 34-oz. cowboy rib steak. choose an accompanying sauce (salsa verde, blue butter), order up some sweet corn pudding and throw it down with a cold martini garnished with blue cheese-stuffed olives.

like it well done? go steak it out.
