have a martini your way. just make sure you have it at bond st, opening friday in the thompson hotel beverly hills.
already a fixture in nyc, jonathan morr brings bond street to the west coast. japanese (dare we say fusion) cuisine is served in ultra-mod style. the upstairs lounge, sushi bar and patio don cozy earth tones. brown leather booths and a checkerboard wall mosaic keep the vibe minimal cool as you snack on that fugu sashimi. if blowfish isn't your style, try the east-meets-west eats, like seared tuna and foie gras with plum-wine glaze. the hotel itself is a study in swank. a rooftop pool, sleek designs by dodd mitchell and the staff are dressed to kill, courtesy of designer jenni kayne and stylist rachel zoe. after all the asian thoroughfare, you may feel the need to stay for a night. or two.
eat up, bond style. tuxedo not required.
