  BLT Steak

the steaks are high with all the new chophouses peppering LA. but there's no stopping this train. hit the strip for the west coast location of BLT Steak.

no, it's not your ol' bacon, lettuce and tomato. chef laurent tourondel's idea of BLT is bistro laurent tourondel. but you should know that by now. this is the chef's eighth steak outpost (not to mention the numerous BLT siblings 'round the world). for the look, designer michael bagley sets a warm tone with macassar ebony tables, rich walnut floors and supple suedes. for the eats, choose from a variety of USDA prime, certified black angus, american wagyu or japanese kobe beef. avoiding the red states? try the roasted black bass or lemon rosemary chicken. tuna tartare with avocado and soy-lime dressing, or giant popovers with bubbling gruyere (oui, oui) appeal to your euro side. there are nearly 500 wines on their list, so you'll need to be decisive. save room for the crepe soufflé with passion fruit sauce.

bets are in. ante up.
