you used to shudder at the thought of conveyor belt sushi: stale cali rolls schlepping by like suitcases at baggage claim. no, thank you. that was, until luckyfish came along.

the new beverly hills resto from the sushi roku team promises to strip the carousel concept of its seedy rep and turn it into a customized, one-of-a-kind dining experience. the design folks at tag front (geisha house, blue velvet) say sayonara to fluorescent bulbs and formica tables in favor of soft lighting and warm earth tones. you no longer have to cross your fingers and pray that the spicy hamachi you've been eyeing hasn't been around the block as many times as your revolving-door friend. if you like it hot, the seven-pepper calamari or miso-glazed black cod is sure to please. sake and shochu are also on-hand to wash it all down. and if you're on the run, simply order to-go or, better yet, have that sashimi delivered.

consider it the luck of the draw.
