you've seen him up in smoke on TV, but now let your taste buds be the judge. the fiery chef makes his socal resto debut with gordon ramsay at the london west hollywood next week.

david collins created the elegant setting, but you're coming for the inspired west-euro food. to placate LA's flavor-of-the-moment mindset, the culinary king continually dishes up new seasonal offerings. think cali spiny lobster with white port sauce, and west coast halibut with kumamoto oysters and champagne velouté. overwhelmed by all the choices? try the six course tasting menu, instead. rack of sonoma lamb, crab beignets, sautéed sea scallops and cauliflower puree beckon those in the know. given the pacific locale, there's a sushi menu. (plus, what's LA without sush?) ramsay's eponymous sister resto in NYC scored two michelin's, so celebs won't be the only stars at this eatery for long. two main dining rooms within the luxe hotel seat 110 guests. don't want to let them see you eat? reserve a private one and tuck in.

it's sure getting hot. but for once it's the food that's on fire, not the chef.
