while in grad school in chicago, the bars and restos on rush street were your stomping ground. but now you're here in the west. make a medley of your two loves and hit up rush street, opening this weekend.
brian mckeaney, whose family owns 13 establishments on the legendary party strip, combines his experience with producer ken kaufman and writer tom patchett (remember alf?) to bring LA a taste of midwest melee. slide into a black leather booth or grab a dark wood table. the 35-foot molded concrete bar is the largest in town and stocked with hard-to-find microbrews. don't forget to check out the contempo art on the walls from the puppet writer's collection. upstairs sports a music-driven lounge, bar and rooftop patio. chow down on buffalo chicken dumplings, BBQ pork sliders, brick oven pizzas or kobe pigs in a blanket. gone hollywood? there's always the marinated ahi cubes, or lobster thermador ravioli. recovering from the night before? remedy that with the hangover brunch.
pass the brewski and watch da bears.
