  recently opened apsleys

cancel your trip to positano. bona fide italiano is coming to you at the recently opened apsleys in the lanesborough.

georgio locatelli's pal nick bell takes charge in the kitchen (after stints at cecconis and zafferano). so, what's the deal? tradish italian dining in a regency setting. tihany design company (who worked magic at NYC restos le cirque, jean-georges and per se) have created a contemporary look that fits in with the lanesborough's regency style. translation? the famous glass conservatory ceiling is still intact. for the boys, think beef steak fiorentina in a bone marrow sauce with spinach and roasted potatoes. for you, feast on wild boar ragu with handkerchief pasta. (be honest: both for you). pair with one of the 16 "world's greatest wines" offered by the glass.

just remember one thing: be nice to the bar staff. this may become your new italian getaway.
