you already live at yauatcha. hang out at the hakkasan. now nab a table at alan yau's latest, sake no hana.

after months of delays, sake no hana finally opens this week. this time, the man who made chinese food haute turns his hand to high-class japanese. for the menu, think rustic but upmarket sush and sashimi. we don't quite know what that means, but if yau can make a pork bun fancy, we can't wait to see what he does with the japanese staple. architect kengo kuma (he designed LVMH's tokyo headquarters, so he knows style) injected traditional japanese elements into the former shumi resto space. expect timber on the raised platforms and marvel at the hand-crafted bamboo lined walls. to drink? an extensive sake and shochu list will whet your appetite for the steamed shabu beef that's already getting our tongues wagging.

will yau succeed with his third resto desto? we hope so, for his sake.
