if you think plain when you think of
vanilla, think again. the new resto of that name is, in essense, quite the sensation.
diners can be forgiven for tripping out (or over) in the dining room. black and white damask patterned walls, colour co-ordinated furniture (i.e. black or white), and mirrors set the mod tone.
the food is modern european. start with crab and tomato millefeuille with apple and avocado langoustine if you're feeling starved for colour. then bresse chicken with morilles gnocchi and wild asparagus, and lemon mousse ravioli with fresh exotic salad to close (yes, that's dessert). and the bar? colour-changing led lighting, crystal chandeliers, white walls, white drapes, white seating, white patterns. get the picture? the classic cocktails (and the vibe) come from barman xenios voniatis, previously at NYC's milk and honey. members at the new boite will be entitled to preferential booking, access to private areas, and invitations to special events.
more design dining than fine dining? check it out and see for yourself.
