thoughts
of trafalgar square include pigeons, confused tourists, demos,
and (pause) the arrival of a late night cocktail bar? affirmative.
this week's now factor: doon.
we'll say it again: the arrival of a late night cocktail bar - a
tartan clad one - reminiscent of scottish sister resto albannach (just
upstairs). like big sis, it’s a bagpipe-free zone with a penchant
for scot malts and spring punch, english-inspired drinks a.k.a. lady
penelope and french beret, and others filled with versions
of black and blueberries. peckish punters can also try the scot-goes-english
bar bites including crab risotto and filo bundled haggis or venison
sausage. (but save your appetite for elsewhere.)
you'll need to visit yourself to determine the highlands hideaway
factor.
and so you can say "been there, doon that."
