west coast vs. east? no contest. but you know how your new york
posse loves pastis (even under 2 feet of snow). so the barely
opened sunset bistro,
bowery,
might
just settle the score.
sure every new restaurant claims to be a little nueva york (case
in point: neighbor magnolia). but owner george abou-daoud promises
this one
will be.
exhibit a: subway tiles, barstools from williamsburg
(that's brooklyn), and a
tin ceiling. exhibit
b:
chef david bonfiglio worked in soho. exhibit c: only 40 seats,
so you can touch your neighbors thighs (we mean fries). exhibit
d: no reservations.
the moules frites, coq au vin, and pernod seem to
be headed in the right direction.
unlike your last cab experience in the meatpacking district.
