downtown's WWII-era department store-turned-bar and vintage clothing shop, dean's
credit clothing has opened a second location on one of the fastest-growing blocks in the montrose.
dean's part deux opened last month after an extensive reno of the warehouse-like building at fairview and morgan that left the art deco exterior untouched. sales ledgers from the original dean's, hand-dated from the 1940s, paper the bathroom walls and by night rattan tables occupy a velvet-roped parking space out front, creating a makeshift patio. the bartender talks up their cosmos and glasses of red, and at $14 a piece during happy hour, you're just glad the glasses are big. dean's downtown had evolved into a live-music venue, which spurred co-owners to open this location with more of a lounge feel. it's also set apart with the fierce vintage finds, like a fab sequined top or flouncy eighties prom dress (hey, you never know).
come for the clothes, stay for the cosmo. dean's credit clothing. 315 fairview. at morgan. 713.227.3326.
