yes, john varvatos has opened up in east hampton, and his stylish, rock-star-infused fashion might just be enough to get your man out of bed and into town early.
varvatos's sixth store fills a much needed niche for the boys in EH, who have long been underserved while their fairer counterparts have had everything a girl could dream of: cynthia rowley, gucci, devi kroell, eli tahari (a whole corner now), tiffany, ralph lauren, and recently tory burch. varvatos's 1,800 square-foot space reflects the relaxed, beach-chic environs, done up in reclaimed barn wood and brick. nice little touches like vinyl records, vintage photos, books, and mid-century lighting and furniture are all for sale - so if you want it, it's yours. party-boy and DILF varavtos was never one for the usual 10-to-6 shtick, so expect regularly hosted evening events.
and if none of this is enough to get the boyfriend out from under the covers, the shop offers morning openings starting at 7:30 a.m. by appointment (complete with coffee, a nosh, and newspaper), which, of course, will make it far easier than battling the crowds at the golden pear. you get enough of that on 27.
