being in the hamptons come august is like being in rehab. no leaving the house until you can deal with the outside world. unless of course you can strangle the loud alan schneider broker while eating at nick & toni's. better dining options? say, the
hamptons wine and food festival? yes.
welcome this two-day gorge fest for its inaugural year. and with it comes top culinarians from the city - joe bastianich (babbo), david burke (davidburke & donatella), and michael romano (union square cafe) - just to name a few. this lawn party-dinner party includes cooking, wine tastings, an iron chef-like competition, cookbook signings, plus a chance to bid on an apron designed by martha (post penitentiary). not to mention some of the best food and wine in town.
you may have spotted the grassroots, last opportunity-to-wear-white-pants marketing from montauk to manorville, but tickets are still on the market. and at $150 per, it could be less than your last meal at nello.
prognosis: the only grass you'll need will be under your feet.
