new old thing.

sure prim and proper is fine for your 3:00 pm with the head of institutional sales. but check yourself into an institution if you can't do boheme during off hours. especially at the beach. no one's saying you need to look like something ashley olsen dragged in. just snag an item or two from geminola - the west village answer to your grandmother's closet.

these upscale recyclables were once only available at their city storefront on perry street, but they've quietly snuck out to east hampton. tucked away between vintage hermés and trish of capri sandals at loco (a.k.a. the store next to the corner calypso), you'll find a rack teeming with new dresses made from old dresses. it's not brain surgery. simply the concept of owner/designer lorraine kirke. she combs the flea markets for antique fabrics, then reconstructs them for thoroughly modern millies like you. we mean, c'mon, do you really need another pale pink cableknit cashmere? nay. but something eclectic so you don't have to worry about the attack of the clones at your next cocktail party? totally worthy.

then you can go right back to boardroom come monday.
