cornelia.

finally, finally, finally. we ran a contest on this new mega-spa last year, and a lucky winner walked away with a rooftop champagne and massage party for up to eight friends, but was forced to wait until it officially opened. well, alas it will.

the cornelia day resort, named aptly after romanian born cornelia zicu, will launch quietly this evening before officially opening its doors to the public next week. and worth the wait it was. not that we can enjoy the lush rooftop gardens with manicured hedges until summer - but the indoor watsu pool (one of a million mark zeff designed wow-factors) may just hold us over the edge until then. with only one of two anywhere in the country, clients can float in an oversized, heated pool while being massaged simultaneously. and all these things are just bonuses on top of a variety of beauty offerings created by the ex-peninsula spa skin expert herself.

rumor has it cornelia will be one of the most luxurious spas in new york, and with a hair salon, restaurant, retail store, and a privately branded collection of cornelia product co-developed with ryan basics (disciples of lauder) - all you'd really want to do is move in.
