french fry. french kiss. french lingerie. our euro neighbors have offered us some of the finer things in life. now they bring us the recently opened resto, la voile.

a direct import from cannes, the brasserie meets bistro is serving up classic med food in a nautical-themed spot. the resto was recently moved from its original french locale that had been serving up grilled sea bass and sautéed squid since 1947. la voile (meaning the sail) might still be in a soft launch, but the menu shows it could be anchored in newbury for awhile. think beef fondue, plenty of olive oil and fresh seafood. opt for classic steak frites and follow it up with some industrial strength espresso. no matter what you order, chef sam bousseta will prepare it with fresh ingreds and provincial herbs.

tired of the same old? this might just be the thing to put the wind back in your sail.
