  blomus chimo fireplace

can't remember the last time you sat next to a crackling fire sipping a hot toddy? reminisce no more with the brilliant genius of the blomus chimo fireplace ($1,480).

if you're not one of the lucky few to have a beacon hill apartment with a working fireplace (oh, the envy), then at least you can get one of the two. the portable (yes, portable) fireplace can be mounted onto any wall for an instant ski lodge setting. why didn't anyone think of this before? you just need a few tools help you hang the 27-square-inch box, and there's no need to have it near any vents or gas lines. instead, the fire is burned using ethanol, a clean-burning fuel that is completely organic. translation? it's made from renewable resources (like corn, potatoes and wheat), which means it won't contribute to the greenhouse effect. but like every product that involves fire, it also comes with a warning.

you might never want to leave the house.
