the downtown newbie is now open for lunch and dinner, but expect the transformed black rhino space to celebrate a grand debut later in the month. gone are the cigarettes burns and unsavory smells of the former occupants. instead, the cronin group (who are behind the playwright and boston beer garden) are shedding their watering hole image with this upscale eatery. chef rene michelena, formerly of saint, will be serving up contemp urban dishes like grilled squab and goat cheese-stuffed 'chokes. and not to be outdone, the drink list is like the international house of bevs. down caipirinhas or sip on some blackberry bellinis on all three floors of the spot. but come summertime, elbow your way through the crowds on the roof deck that is sure to boast some spectacular city views.
