it's no myth. arting and eating come together in south boston this month for the opening of persephone.
persephone is part of the megalith achilles project that's set to open in fort point channel. it's also named for the greek goddess of fertility and queen of the underworld. talk about big shoes to fill. but michael leviton (chef mastermind behind lumiere) isn't afraid to take on the challenge. he's brought in local and sustainable ingreds (though, who isn't doing that) to whip up duck egg en concotte with wild mushrooms. got more bite than that? sink into a two pound rib eye with roasted garlic creamed spinach. drink like dionysus with their selection of organic and biodynamic wines and sake. but save some green to scope out the designer duds in the retail section of the achilles project.
persephone may be called the iron queen, but we have a feeling you'll be soft on her.
