spent the summer on another planet? here's what you've been missing.

king of the park.
the gramercy park hotel (with a new, giant venetian chandelier and all) finally opened. an ian schrager property with a little help from artist julian schnabel. the hotel bars are still there (redone), but the kicker is the soon-to-open alan yau resto, park chinois (as in london's hakkasan), coming this fall. wondering about the rooftop bar? sorry folks. it's now an exclusive club for hotel guests and members only. 2 lexington avenue. at gramercy park. 212.920.3300. www.gramercyparkhotel.com

who hoo?
chef joey campanaro (harrison and pace fame), that's who. he's stirring up quite a fuss at his petit bedford street spot, the little owl . and that's not all. he's also stirred up a killer menu of seasonal treats: meatball sliders, roasted cod with corn salad, and hamachi with a bit of slaw. only problem is the fancified yet simple menu only serves 28 at a time. but that's not really a problem. 90 bedford street. at grove. 212.741.4695.

right head ted.
there's something so good about getting your hair coiffed at the ted gibson salon. could be the unpretentious staff, lower fifth location, and ted's fondness for hot pink. then there are his prods like TG signature hair sheets, designed to clean, condition, and fix. he's been cutting for angelina and styling for D&G's runway for years. (dot, dot, dot: his cuts are red carpet-worthy, even if you go shag.) 184 fifth avenue. 2nd floor. between 23rd and 22nd. 212.633.6333. www.tedgibsonsalon.com

gin dandy.
new resto gin lane is looking to impart some rat packer style to the MPD. part one: standard continental fare (dover sole or steak tartar). part two: space designed by former furniture designer cuoco black. part three: uniforms a la ted baker. and lastly: cocktails from ex-rainbow roomer dale degroff. mix together for a shaken (not stirred) new spot. 355 west 14th street. at 9th avenue. 212.691.0555. www.ginlanenyc.com

house on demand.
dreaming about the perfect house? idea. opt for a prefab home from resolution: 4 . choose an L shape or a E shape. pool or no pool. bedrooms. bathrooms. NP. (no prob.). partners joseph tanney and robert luntz can configure your little dream home any way you'd like for about $200 to $250 a square foot. they arrive to install your new digs about three months after you greenlight design. and voila! 150 west 28th street. between sixth and seventh. suite 1902. 212.675.9266. www.re4a.com
