even the dog days of summer can't keep you from eating out. see what's set to pop up come august:

park it.
if you can't beat it (the heat, that is), join it. or more specifically, hit soho park, the new aptly-named, partly-outdoor cafe on lafayette. the dinner menu's classic americana, as well as the patio's picnic-style tables. and breakfast includes homemade pastries and organic coffee. but maybe you'd better get that iced. 62 prince street. at lafayette. 212.219.2129.

flame it.
cafe fuego offers more than your typical flame. it's got halle berry's flame, gabriel aubrey, as owner. add to that a hot cuban kitchen and you can see where the name came from. 9 st. marks place. between second and third. 212.677.7300.

wrap it.
check out these hot buns. bread, we mean. chef david chang of momofuku fame is opening another spot on 13th street called ssam bar. this time it's more a fast-food vibe with a finger on korean fare like ssam (a burrito-like dish), cheese, and, of course, the buns. 207 second avenue. at 13th street. www.eatmomofuku.com

stick it.
a neighborhood spot just east of the MPD? could be a sweet idea, as in honey, the new restolounge from nightlifer matt shendell. question is, will cocktail-inspired apps like a tuna colado and a salmonojito stick? 243 west 14th street. between seventh and eighth. 212.620.0077.
