You can stop waiting, NYC. The arrival of brit import Topshop is finally here. With 300 UK stores and 100 more locations worldwide, Topshop is a fashionable force to be reckoned with. The clothing powerhouse has been around since 1964, and in that time has helped bolster the career of noted designers like Alexander Mcqueen, launched a yearly london fashion week show, and has been in on a number of successful collabs. (Most recently kate moss, but you knew that.) So while it's taken more than 40 years to get stateside, you'll be happy to welcome this first NYC flagship store. At 60,000-square-feet, it's the second largest location of the outfitter anywhere. Inside, you'll find their many lines, including mainline, premium, boutique, mini (for babies, launched in '06), as well as an intimidating (but hot) shoe collection. Clothes aside, it will also house a hair salon as well as a one-hour tailoring service. And to coincide with the opening celebration, Williamsburg Salon and Apothecary Woodley andBbunny will be offering a pop-up styling bar with complimentary styling for the weekend. Hours are from 1pm to 6pm daily until Sunday, but you better get there early: styling is on a first come, first served basis.
