Indie menswear store Department Seventeen has moved from its Nob Hill location (opened in 2010) to a new, bigger space in Hayes Valley. D17 offers a mix of brands that are equal parts classic and modern style. In addition to their namesake label, gents can also pick up clothing, shoes, and accessories by brands like Kitsune, Norse Project, and Richer Poorer, along with new additions like John Smedley sweaters and Al's Attire work boots. The clean, casual space has an unfinished, carefree vibe, with mid-century armchairs, pegboard wall, and wooden pallets. --Toni Kervina
