You know him for his fedora, his sarcastic wit, and his bromance with fellow top chef contestant Andrew. Now get a chance to get even closer at Spike Mendelsohn's resto, Good Stuff Eatery.
The first location of the chain, the Good Stuff Eatery is Spike's way of finally doing it on his own terms. (You remember the soup episode, right?) The casual spot serves all his faves, plain and simple: burgers and shakes. For the meat lovers, think farm-raised beef burgers and free-range turkey ones. Vegetarians get a delish nod with the 'shroom burger. And the menu has a little bit of a retro sock-hop-soda-shop feel with root beer floats and toasted marshmallow hand-spun shakes. Fans of Spike might be surprised at his newest venture; he spent the last few years cooking Vietnamese cuisine at NYC's Mai House after a stint working for Thomas Keller at Bouchon in Napa Valley. Expect the spot to look as laid back as the man himself: distressed wood floors, white painted brick walls, and a giant cowbell hanging from the ceiling. Now's your turn to sit at the judge's table instead of just watching Padma eat.
