After much anticipation and three attempted debuts, new restaurant L'Opéra is finally opened thanks to Pierre Fran‡ois Blanc.
Sharing the historical Palais Garnier with the national opera, the two-story futuristic red and white look by designer Odile Decq is a must-see. But expect even more bold-faced names on board: Chef Christophe Aribert (Terrasses d'Uriage) will head the menu along with Yann Tanneau (Mama Shelter, which we hear is making a debut in Brooklyn this summer). The menu boasts lobster, fish and regional fare that take advantage of the rooftop herb and honey garden, plus sweets courtesy of pastry chef Hervé Moreau (Pierre Gagnaire). Find some drama in opera-themed cocktails at the bar (like the "Martini Charles" and "Phantom"). We suspect the grandeur of the two-level space (complete with terrace) will steal the scene.
