More About Soho House:
In a city as populous as ours, it's only pertinent to find a bit of privacy. For starters? Soho House. A chic 45,000 square-foot members-only international club in the Meatpacking District. The Soho House is complete with a full-service spa, rooftop pool, screening room with leather club chairs, restaurant and three floors of bedrooms. Like the original outpost in London, members include the Hollywood jet-set, fashion editors and well-known literary personalities (we hear the committee accepts applications for general members). According to Tim Geary, a founding member and head of (non)pr, you need to complete an application, be proposed by two existing members, and pay a membership fee of $950. He explains the club's goal is to protect its environment, keep a certain demographic and prevent it from becoming overcrowded. "In an ideal day, members can come for a steam or sauna, see a film, and have dinner." Now going on ten years in business, we'd say their ideal day has some mass appeal. But not too mass, of course.
