So you can't eat the coffee cups or nibble on the doorknobs, but Candybar makes sure the sweets are right and the snozzberries taste like, well, snozzberries. The heart of the Western Addition is thumping for San Francisco's first dessert lounge. Sure, there may be a wine bar attached, but you're more interested in the salted caramel ice cream. Owner Tan Truong wanted to create a space where you can stop in after dinner and just hang out. Catch up with your friends while sharing a chocolate brioche with balsamic caramel. The casual lounge in the front is perfect to break cookies and share a glass of milk with a bud. On a date? Take a table in the more formal dining room and get the four-course tasting menu. Perfect pairings of wine, beer, coffee treats, emerging artists, and board games sanction the sugar-fest. How's that for having the golden ticket?
